BLACKLICK, OHIO – The Northwood University women's golf team placed fourth out of 18 teams at the NC4K College Classic Monday afternoon (March 30).
The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Jefferson Country Club. The course was a par 72 and played at 5,873 yards. Ohio Dominican was the host of the event.
Northwood shot team scores of 335 and 324 to finish at 659 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 631, followed by Ashland (634) and Findlay (656).
The balanced Northwood lineup had four players finish within five shots of each other. Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) led the way at 163 overall (85-78), which was good for a tie for 11th. Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England) tied for 16th at 165 (85-80), while Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont. / E'Cole) shot rounds of 88 and 78 to place 21st. Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.) was 24th at 168 (82-86). A total of 100 players took part in the event.
Northwood will travel to the Tiffin Spring Invitational April 12-13).
