TIFFIN, OHIO – The Northwood University women's golf team placed fourth out of 13 teams at the Tiffin Invitational Monday afternoon (April 13).
The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club. The course played as a 5,911 yard par-72.
Northwood shot team scores of 333 and 331 to finish at 664 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 637, followed by Findlay (645) and Ashland (647).
Leading the way for Northwood was junior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole) and freshman Monica Gabrielle (Missassauga, Ont./St. Joseph). Klekner-Alt carded rounds of 81-84 while Gabriele shot 85-80. Both players tied for 10th overall. Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England/Range) finished at 166 (83-83) to tie for 14th, while Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) tied for 19th at 168 (84-84). A total of 79 players took part in the event.
Northwood will compete at the GLIAC Championship April 24-26.
