RECAP: Northwood earned a hard-fought 5-4 win over Grand Valley State in a key Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match.


  • The Timberwolves took the lead after doubles thanks to earning wins at the top two positions, taking a 2-1 lead into singles.
  • The two teams split the six singles matches, all of which were decided in straight sets.
  • NU's Anna Aniskina picked up a dramatic 7-6, 7-6 win at the No. 5 slot which proved to be the deciding match.


•          Aniskina, Veronika Radlinger: 2-0 on the day for Northwood.


  • Northwood and Grand Valley shared the GLIAC Championship a year ago – both teams finished the regular season with a 10-1 record in conference play.
  • With today's win, Northwood is the last undefeated team in the GLIAC.


  • The Timberwolves will travel to Michigan Tech October 1 for a GLIAC match. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
