Women's Tennis Claims GLIAC Tournament Title With 5-1 Win Over Tiffin

RECAP: No. 1 seed Northwood wins the 2016 GLIAC Tournament Championship with a 5-1 win over No. 2 seed Tiffin Sunday (October 30).


  • For the third straight day at the GLIAC Tournament, Northwood won the match in a similar way. Northwood won two of the three doubles matches, winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to go up 2-1 heading to singles.
  • Like they had the previous two days, the Timberwolves posted three wins in singles to get to five points and close out the match



  • Northwood, who won the GLIAC Championship by having the best record in the conference in the regular season, now earns the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. That event will take place in May.
  • The Timberwolves have now won 12 of the last 14 GLIAC Tournament titles.


  • The Timberwolves have completed the fall portion of their schedule. NU will return to play in the spring.
